Where the leak sits
A leak near the edge of the slab or under a closet is far cheaper to reach than one in the middle of a tiled living room. Location drives this job more than anything else.
Hot side or cold side
Hot lines fail more often and frequently fail more than once. A hot side leak in original copper is the case where a reroute or a repipe starts making more sense than a patch.
Repair method
Three real options. Open the slab and repair the spot, abandon the line and reroute it overhead, or repipe the house. The cheapest today isn't always the cheapest across two years.
Floor covering
