Privacy policy

The short version
There is no form on this site, so we collect almost nothing from browsing. If you call, we take what is needed to get a plumber to you and we pass it to that plumber. Analytics stays switched off until you accept it.
What we collect when you call
To refer your call we take your name, phone number, the service address or ZIP code, and a description of the problem. We pass those details to the independent contractor who is going to contact you, because they cannot attend without them.
We keep a record of the call so we can follow up if the contractor does not attend, and for our own billing with that contractor. We do not sell your personal information.
Calls may be answered by an operator on our behalf. If a call is recorded for quality purposes you will be told at the start of the call.
What the website collects
The site is a set of static pages. It has no login, no form, no shopping cart and no user accounts. Our hosting provider processes standard server request data, including IP address and user agent, to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
Cookies and similar storage
This site uses a small amount of browser storage in two categories.
Strictly necessary
- Your cookie choice. Stored in your browser so the consent banner does not reappear on every page. Set only once you choose.
- Traffic source. Stored for the length of your browsing session so that, if you do accept analytics, we can see whether visitors arrived from a search engine, an AI assistant or a direct link.
Analytics, optional
- If you accept, Google Analytics is loaded and sets its own cookies to measure page views and clicks on the phone number. If you decline, the analytics script is never loaded and those cookies are never set.
You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, which removes the stored choice and brings the banner back.
What analytics measures, if you allow it
- Which pages are viewed, and for how long
- Clicks on the phone number, and which part of the page they came from
- Whether the visit came from a search engine, an AI assistant, or directly
- General device and browser information
We use this to work out which pages actually help people find a plumber. It is not used to identify you personally, and it is not combined with call records.
Who your information is shared with
- The plumbing contractor referred to your call, so they can contact you and attend. They handle your information under their own privacy practices from that point.
- Our service providers, including the website host, the telephone provider and, if you accept it, the analytics provider.
- Where the law requires it, such as a lawful request from an authority.
We do not sell or share your personal information for cross context behavioral advertising.
How long we keep it
Call records are kept for as long as needed to administer the referral and our contractor billing, and to meet record keeping obligations. Analytics data is retained according to the analytics provider's standard retention settings.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you may have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, to request deletion of it, to request correction of it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. As stated above, we do not sell personal information.
To make a request, email help@santaanarooterpro.com with enough detail for us to find the relevant record, such as the phone number you called from and the approximate date.
Children
This site is aimed at property owners and occupiers. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Do Not Track and global privacy signals
Because analytics is off by default here and only runs if you actively accept it, a browser privacy signal that indicates you do not want tracking produces the same result as declining the banner.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Call records are held with access limited to the people who need them. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
